Individual Therapy

Just as the name implies, this service involves just you and me, working together. For many people, this is how they begin their journey of healing and growth.

We start by getting to know each other a bit.

You tell me where you are presently, how you’re feeling, and where you’d like to go in this process.

Maybe you are struggling in a relationship. Or feeling worried about making a big life decision. Maybe you’ve just found yourself stuck in life and are looking for a way forward. We’ll explore what you might need together.

Then we build a plan for therapy.

We look at your available time and financial resources, and create a plan that works for you and your needs. You are always the director, and I act as the guide.

Having a safe place to share the events, problems, and pain that life can bring is something many of us have never had growing up. Individual therapy provides such a place. A place to be seen, to be heard, and to be accepted.

I use many different tools and techniques in my practice, but believe that experiential therapy provides for faster processing for clients. I have over 200 hours of training in various experiential techniques.

I also have specialized training in the areas of:

Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and/or depression can rob a person of the joy in their life. Joy that they deserve.

Together we can work to find tools to help you manage these mood disorders.

Trauma

Trauma is something that we have all encountered at some time during our lives. Trauma for a child is thought to be anything that is less than nurturing. So, unless you had perfect parents, you have experienced some form of trauma.

As a species, humans are amazingly resilient. You are probably not going to experience any long-term affects from the time your mom forgot to pick you up from band practice. But so many of us have traumas that are severe, and our brain stores that information.

Treating trauma allows for healing of those long-held wounds.

Addiction

Addiction is a way that we, as hurt people, try and cover up our emotional wounds.

Addiction comes in many forms, from chemical addictions to behaviors such as shopping and gambling. The thing they all have in common is that they are a way of allowing us to escape from what we feel. And they ruin lives.

There are ways to heal what we feel and lay down those things we use to cover us up.
